Lawn Disease
Lawn Disease

To prevent disease your lawn needs 1 to 1-1/2" (3-4cm) of water weekly - applied early in the morning. Avoid nighttime watering and mowing.

Regular aeration, raking, and tree and shrub pruning will minimize soil compaction, manage thatch, increase air circulation and increase sunlight exposure where required.

Thin or damaged areas should be over-seeded with grass types that will be less prone to disease problems.

Mow with a razor-sharp blade in alternating directions at a 6cm-7.5cm (2½"-3") height of cut.

Insects
Insects

A healthy lawn is the best defense against insect damage. Regular maintenance - mowing and morning watering will help keep your lawn strong and healthy.

Nematodes

Weeds
Weeds

With as many as 150 seeds ready to germinate throughout the entire season for every square foot of soil, the potential for weeds is tremendous. Weeds compete with grass and plants for space, water, nutrients and sunlight. A slight weakness in the turf can allow weed seeds to germinate and become established. Maintaining the health and vigour of your grass is the best way to prevent weed growth.

Weed Control

Maintence

With proper maintenance you can avoid 99% of all lawn problems. Your lawn should be at least 2½ to 3 inches (6-8 cm) long, longer during a hot, dry summer. Grass clippings are about 90 percent water by weight and are high in protein. Leaving them on the lawn to decompose will return vital nutrients back to the soil.
